Short sleeve bodysuit - newborn size, white, pack of 7 is £7.00

Long sleeve bodysuit - newborn size, white, pack of 3 is £4.00

Sleepsuit - newborn size, white, pack of 3 is £7.00

Socks - newborn size, white, pack of 5 is £4.00

Mitts - one size, white, pack of 3 is £2.50

Hat - one size, white, pack of 2 is £4.00

Sleeping bag - Baby bundle snoozie, 1 tog is £16.99

TOTAL SPENT IS £45.49


Shop 2 - John Lewis

Short sleeve bodysuit - newborn size, white, pack of 7 is £8.00

Long sleeve bodysuit - newborn size, white, pack of 5 is £7.00*

Sleepsuit - newborn size, white, pack of 5 is £12.00

Socks - 0-3 months, pastel roll tops, pack of 5 is £5.00

Mitts - one size, white, pack of 2 is £1.50

Hat - one size, white, pack of 1 is £2.50 X 2 = £5.00

Sleeping bag - 0-6 months, John Lewis Take It Easy Sleeping Bag, ecru, 1 tog tog is £16.00

This would mean that you would save a total of £9.01 if you bought our seven essentials from Mothercare this week.

*Please note that the two stores don’t always do like for like multi-packs so we have included the closest versions available in white. At John Lewis for instance, you could buy the JL 3 pack of Take It East Long sleeved bodysuits which are white but have patterns or motifs for £6.

Editors note:

Always remember that wherever you buy your basics from, be very mindful of quality because you could end up spending more money in the long run if they don’t wash well. I for instance, buy all of my baby basics in John Lewis as they are excellent quality and wash extremely well. Their cotton feels soft and slightly thicker, durable quality.
