I love looking round Ikea and on a recent visit I noticed this great value table and chairs set for children. Both my daughters loved climbing onto the chairs and sitting at the little table. The Svala set (shown left) is left plain so that it can be painted or stained to match your nursery if you wish. This would make a great play table. The Svala set costs £19.99 for a table and 2 small chairs.

If you’re tight on budget and looking to go down the neutral route, you should definitely pay a visit to Matalan as they do a range of nursery decoration products that can get you to kit it out for less than £100. We featured their previous range which is one of our most popular posts and shows the demand for budget baby nursery gear.

It is very cute and bear-centric so if you’re anything like me and get a bit nervy around this type of stuff, I’d mix it with in with some jazzier pieces to not only balance it out but to liven up the room a little. Try wall stickers….

In the meantime, Matalan don’t sell online but you can go to your nearest store.

Urchin have a 20% off offer on their bean bag at present. I personally am a big lover of beanbags, especially when the kids were younger, I made a quiet corner for my kids, where we had beanbags, blankets and books, so we could snuggle up, have a cuddle and read a story.

Blooming Marvellous, keep adding great bargains into their sales pages and this is one of them.

Storage boxes are a must in every house, unless you have your house totally kitted out in fitted cupboard space.  I love these storage boxes for a number of reasons: they are eco-friendly as they are made out of recycled corrugated cardboard, they have funky patterns and colours decorating them and they are sturdy, being able to hold up to 100kg in weight!
