I normally wouldn’t look twice at something like this because ‘Honey Tree Pooh’ motifed gear normally makes me nervous. But…as moses baskets go, this is not only pretty great value but the circular pattern combined with the ’subtle’ motif keeps it in safe modern territory.

The Zorbit : Honey Tree Pooh Moses Basket is actually made by Cosatto which are pretty well known for their very modern nursery gear and it comes with an adjustable canopy and embroidered apron.

It was £74.49 and it’s now a rather cool £30.44 from our Bambino Goodies Amazon Store

Brenda recently featured the Stokke Sleepi Cot in our Best Price Available feature and I have just spotted that they have some now reduced at Two Left Fleet from £420 down to £299. Now whilst it’s not half price, in terms of this type of high end cot, these types of reduction are difficult to come by so you need to strike whilst the iron is hot!

They only have them in whitewash and cherry and stocks are selling fast.

It has four different heights and can be transformed into two stylish bedroom chairs or converted into a full size childrens bed. As it’s not rectangular, there’s no getting wedged in a corner.

One of our loyal readers Caroline, has set a challenge for BBG.

The Challenge: Find a Cot Bed for under £80.00 and an Organic Mattress to go with it for under £140, bringing the total budget to £220.

So off we set to conquer this challenge and help out Caroline.

We have highlighted the two best options below.

COT BED

Hauck Berlin Cot Bed, available from Baby Online Products via Ebay They are at present updating their website and the cotbed will be on there later this week at the same price. This cotbed has 2 position base height, is made from durable natural pine, size 140 x 70. PRICE £49.99 + £9.99 delivery.

Organic Cotbed Mattress

The Organic Coco mattress is filled with Organic Coir, which is coated in natural latex. The coir is then wrapped with soft anti dustmite lambswool and the mattress covered in an unbleached cotton herringbone cover, which is washable at 60 degrees. This luxurious mattress is made with 100% natural fibres. The core of the mattress is made from Coir (coconut husk and horsehairtail bonded together with natural latex), then wrapped in a sumptuous wool fleece, all inside a mattress cover which is made from 100% organic cotton. Caroline was very happy with our choices and has opted for the Hauck Cotbed and the Organic Coco mattress. Her total purchases have cost her £173.98 which have fallen well inside her budget of £220.

It’s Sweden vs Sweden in this fabulous cot standoff!

On the left we have the Brio Cot in a delectable green £170 from Panik Design and on the left…we have the Ikea Hermelin for a very cool, £75.

Both can be adjusted to two heights, are made from solid wood, but the Brio comes with a mattress and it has slats all the way around, which for me, give it the edge. The Brio also comes in finger engine red and a pristine white.

As you need to fork out for a mattress (and you should go for a decent quality one), you’ll need to spend up to an extra £42 if you buy it from Ikea or undoubtedly more if you buy it elsewhere, but it’s a great budget bargain. But if you don’t like blue and you want the wow factor colourwise, Brio wins hands down.
