With all this talk at the moment of a credit crunch, it has never been more topical for parents to shop around for the best offers.
With a lot of people having internet access, more and more people are buying online, where you tend to get the best budget buys.
The best thing to do is to sit down and work out exactly how much you have to spend on your impending arrival, then you can work out the list of essentials you will need.
If people offer you hand me downs which are in good condition, then you should accept. Things that should be bought new include mattresses and car seats.
Many online retailers do special weekly offers so you should keep checking back if there is a specific item you want.
Ebay is also a good place to pick up a bargain if you like to make offers and see if you have won.
Some retailers offer discounts if you sign up to their newsletter or register.

If you do not like buying online, then try and go to the discount warehouses of the big names where you will be able to pick up good bargains, look out for the sales in the shops, visit car boot sales, nearly new shops, and NCT baby sales. These are all good budget options.
The most important thing is that you want to enjoy your pregnancy and your bambino, so to avoid financial meltdown, make a budget and stick to it.
