If you’re tight on budget and looking to go down the neutral route, you should definitely pay a visit to Matalan as they do a range of nursery decoration products that can get you to kit it out for less than £100. We featured their previous range which is one of our most popular posts and shows the demand for budget baby nursery gear.

It is very cute and bear-centric so if you’re anything like me and get a bit nervy around this type of stuff, I’d mix it with in with some jazzier pieces to not only balance it out but to liven up the room a little. Try wall stickers….

In the meantime, Matalan don’t sell online but you can go to your nearest store.

Prices are, for example, £18 for a cot bumper, £9!!! for a baby mobile, £9 for a changing mat or cot tidy or sleep bag, £8 for a changing mat and other bargain prices!

Aztec, an etailer that sells a lot of crocheted and knitted home accessories as well as clothing has got brilliant reductions on although stock is limited.

The best bargain for me would have been Converse boots at around £10 each. They have limited sizes left in the colours (if your child has feet sized 2-4 you are likely to be in more luck) and this is almost 54% off! They do recommend buying one size up as these come up small.

They also have very limited amounts of Hunter Wellies for both kids and women, with the best bargain being size 7 light blue ones for women now £25 instead of £50.

They have loads of stuff reduced, from Christmas decorations, to blankets, to baby and childrens clothing - I’d set aside some time to have a good virtual rummage! Good luck!

If you own a Phil & Ted’s inline pushchair or are planning to and will have two kids in it, you’ll need one of their double kits which is an additional seat that enables the pushchair to carry two toddlers or a toddler and a newborn (you’ll need to buy a cocoon separately for the baby).

Oliver’s Babycare are selling them for £45.95 which is about £20 off the RRP.

Pampers Baby Wipes Refill packs of 72. Normally £2.39 each and now 3 for £4. These are the ’sensitive’ and the Baby Fresh ‘naturals’. Both are alcohol free.

Huggies Pull Ups 12 and 14 packs of extra large and large for both boys and girls are 2 for £8. They are normally £4.98 each.

Sainsbury’s Eco Nappy in varying sizes are also 2 for £8. They’re normally £4.99 each and have varying amounts of nappies in each ranging from 30-38. They also have mini packs for newborns on offer which are 2 for £4.50 instead of £2.99 each for packs of 28.

Check out all of Sainsbury’s current baby offers. They do sell online but you can’t link to individual product pages, probably because they change all the time.

I was checking the offers at Morrisons and they have packs of Morrisons Newborn Nappies sizes 2-6 on offer with 2 46 packs for £7. They’re normally £3.97 each. I remember reading somewhere that as ‘own label’ nappies go, these are quite good!

They also have Simple Baby Wipes reduced from £1.38 to £1 for 80 packs. Bargain!

I featured these Chalkboard Storage Bins from Matalan recently on Bambino Goodies and they are perfect budget buy for BBG readers.

I found them at Matalan and they come in three colours for a bargain £3 each! Bargain-o-rama!

The website has no information about materials or size and worst of all you can’t buy online! Pet peeves aside; I still think these are worth a trip to your local Matalan where you may well come across some other budget gems.

I love these flasks and have previously raved about them over at Bambino Goodies. Not only do they make me nostalgic about my youth when kids were creative instead of playing computer games (I sound old now and really I’m not!), but they just look so cool!

Great for storing hot water when you’re out on your escapades with your bambino. Yes you could have a run of the mill one, but that would be boring, wouldn’t it?
